Sir David Nicholson's Challenge for the NHS to save £20bn within four years is the top priority facing healthcare professionals, MPs have said. Publishing the Health Select Committee's report on Public Expenditure and the progress made so far the Committee said the NHS must now focus on integrating health and social care services to deliver the type of savings envisioned by Nicholson's challenge.
